What is the LDD100 used for?
The LDD100 is a precision, fast pulsed current source designed to drive laser diodes safely and accurately.
Why is a specialized laser diode driver required?
Laser diodes are extremely sensitive to current spikes and require stable low-noise current sources.
What current range does the LDD100 support?
The current range depends on the configuration ranging from 500mA up to 600A. The device is suitable for typical laser diode testing.
Does the driver support current limiting?
Yes, current limits protect the laser diode from damage.
If we aim to maximize the output current, what is the highest achievable current (is it possible to exceed 600A)? Can multiple units be connected in parallel?
Currently our limit with the LDD100 is 600A and units not able to be connected in parallel.
How do I connect a laser diode to the LDD100?
The LDD100 uses strip line technology to minimize inductance. The laser diode is connected via the output terminals with proper polarity. Contact cards are available upon request for custom connection configurations.
Can the LDD100 operate in pulsed mode?
All configurations support pulsed operation for thermal management and characterization.
Does the driver include monitoring outputs?
A monitoring BNC output allows observation of output current during operation.
Are Artifex devices suitable for laboratory research?
Yes, they are designed for both research and industrial testing environments.
Do the instruments support computer control?
Artifex instruments support PC control for automation and data acquisition.
What software is used to control the devices?
Custom control software or compatible measurement platforms can be used.
Can multiple devices be integrated into a single test setup?
Users may combine devices such as laser drivers, power meters, and integrating spheres.
Do Artifex devices support automated testing systems?
All Artifex devices can be integrated into automated optical test stations. Instruments with software come with a full software development kit (SDK) including our graphical user interface (GUI), source code and typically a LabView VI and / or Python driver.
What maintenance is required?
Typical maintenance includes:
– periodic calibration
– connector inspection
– optical surface cleaning
