What is a transimpedance amplifier (TIA)?

A transimpedance amplifier converts photodiode current into a measurable voltage signal.

What detectors are compatible with the TZA?

What bandwidth does the TZA support?

Bandwidth depends on the model configuration. Artifex offers amplifiers with bandwidths of kHz to MHz.

What gain levels are available?

Gain ranges depend on the model configuration. Artifex offers amplifiers with gains of 10³ V/A up to 108 V/A.

How do I connect a photodiode to the TZA?

The photodiode is connected to the input connector, typically via coaxial or specialized detector input.

Does the TZA provide bias voltage for photodiodes?

Some photodiodes require external biasing depending on configuration. Please refer to the TZA200 or TZA500 for flexible bias options. The TZA400 must be configured at the time of order with zero or a fixed bias voltage.

Can the TZA be used with oscilloscopes?

The voltage output can be directly connected to oscilloscopes or data acquisition systems.

Are Artifex devices suitable for laboratory research?

Yes, they are designed for both research and industrial testing environments.

Do the instruments support computer control?

Artifex instruments support PC control for automation and data acquisition.

What software is used to control the devices?

Custom control software or compatible measurement platforms can be used.

Do Artifex devices support automated testing systems?

All Artifex devices can be integrated into automated optical test stations. Instruments with software come with a full software development kit (SDK) including our graphical user interface (GUI), source code and typically a LabView VI and / or Python driver.

What maintenance is required?

Typical maintenance includes:
– periodic calibration
– connector inspection
– optical surface cleaning
