Mid-IR waveplates manufactured from MgF2 in true zero or single order designs, offering high transmission and very low wavefront distortion.
Zero order waveplates outperform multiple order designs, providing broad bandwidth and lower sensitivity to temperature and wavelength changes, ideal for critical applications.
True zero order waveplates are available for longer wavelengths, while true single order waveplates are offered for shorter wavelengths where a single plate would otherwise be too thin.
As with all of our optics, we will gladly provide these items custom designed to your particular requirements. As an alternative, we offer a selection of standard items as specified below.

The true zero order retardation plate is a single plate whose thickness is designed to give a retardance of the desired fraction.
Zero order waveplates show better performance than multiple order waveplates.
These retardation plates exhibit broad bandwidth and a lower sensitivity to temperature and wavelength changes. They should be considered for more critical applications.
We offer single plate true zero order waveplates for longer wavelengths. At short wavelengths, the plate becomes too thin to handle. In these cases we can offer a true single order waveplate.
